EU Referendum Result in the Cotswold Constituency

13 July 2016

The Cotswolds voted to Remain - 52% (28,015 people) on an 80 % turnout. Our MP, Geoffrey Clifton Brown, backed the Leave campaign.

Voters in Cheltenham and Stroud also elected to remain:
Cheltenham 37,081 (56%) on a 76% turnout
Stroud 40,446 (55%)on a 80% turnout.

The Cotswold Green Party worked hard in the run-up to the EU Referendum.  We delivered over 5000 leaflets, and Eve of Poll cards. We held a Remain Event and had a stall in Cirencester. It would be nice to know what the vote was in the wards we targeted, but unfortunately Cotswold District Council does not have those records.

However other voters in Gloucestershire backed the Leave vote.
In the Forest of Dean 30,251 (59%) on a 77% turnout
Gloucester 37,776 (58%) on a 77% turnout
Tewkesbury 28,568 (53%) on a 79% turnout.
